Asian inspired Chicken Salad Bowl or what I like to call as Salad Terjun

Asian inspired Chicken Salad Bowl or what I like to call as Salad Terjun A quick understanding with the word “ Terjun ”. It means, Jump in Malay. I like to use it because I don’t have a recipe to follow. I literally use what I have, can find and think I can add-in to make the meal complete. So, it is safe to say, I used Terjun recipe a lot. This particular salad is perfect for when you want to clean off your veges leftover in your fridge. The other night, both me and my husband want to have something easy, quick and simple. First thing came to our head is Burger King or Take Away Kebab Pizza. But, neither of them what we would want to eat. So, I went and look into our fridge. Everything is leftover. My first thought was to make fried rice. But I don’t feel like eating rice. I took out all the leftover and thought of salad with Asian twist. Anyway, what I used in this bowl are: Mix Spring Salads Cherry Tomatoes A handful of Bean Sprouts Paprika Carrot

Gothia Tower Gothenburg Standard Room and Breakfast Buffet Review

Before I proceed to review on the room and the breakfast buffet at this hotel, I would like you to know that our stayed was not sponsored by Gothia Hotel nor that I have an affiliation with them.
My husband and I went to Gothenburg on a business trip. Well, he is. I’m just tagging along and make my trip worth the while. So, here is my personal review on the hotel.

About the hotel

It is one of Europe’s five largest hotels!
I believe it divided by 2 categories. Gothia Towers, 4 stars rating hotel and Upper House, a 5-stars hotel within a hotel.
It has 1200 rooms, 29 floors, spans 3 towers (hence the name).
Gothia Towers also contain trade fair and conference space, 8 bars and restaurants that open from lunch until 2200/2300, functions venues (perfect for conferences or parties), meeting places, Spa, swimming pool list can go on and on.

Location

Outside Pool
The hotel is located right apposite Liseberg Amusement Park. It is one of most visited amusement park in Scandinavia. This make the hotel is a perfect hotel for family as well as for business trip. If you are planning to visit the park, do make sure to check the information about their opening time from their homepage because they did not open whole year round. They are closed during the winter months.
But if you would stay here during the months when Liseberg close, there is other places you could visit. One of it is Universum Center.
Shopping districts are also in walking distance. You will not be bored walking from one street to another.

Parking

The hotel has their own parking garage, level 3, (don't park outside Gothia Toweres Guest Parking Section. You are putting yourself a risk to get fine). Hotel parking will cost you 195sek per night. The hotel parking is a locked parking.
To book it, simply provide your car registration number when you make your booking. Then, the day of the arrival, drive slowly up to the barrier, the gate will open automatically. If you are given ticket from the hotel, use it to open the gate. Otherwise, just press the button at the barrier to be admitted/open the gate.
From the car park, simply walk to level 2 walkway to get to the hotel (indoor all the way)

Kids

Here, there is a place for kids to spend their time and energy if you don't feel like going out. I believe parents will have to watch their own kids.
Parents not to worry. There is a lounge/bar for you with your partner while your kids are busy in their playroom! It just right next to it!

Room

My husband and i stayed in their Small room category.

Take this elevator! Its fun! The view is magnificent!
If you afraid of height, then this is your elevator.

The hallway is very small and very much less impressive compared to the look of the building from outside.
There was no paintings on the wall. Basically, there was no decorations. Atleast the floor where we stayed.
Wasn't as welcoming as the reception/lobby.

There was an Ice Machine right outside the elevator. I don't know if it works. Didn't try. Perfect for summer when you want to have a cold drink.

The hallway could use a bit of touch up. Even though it is a less expensive room floor, i think they shouldn't neglected the decoration. The ice machine was not properly installed.

The emergency exit plan is right on your door.

Upon entering the room, the coat hangers and cupboard is on your right side. Inside the cupboard, you will find iron and iron board, hairdryer and hangers.

On the left of the cupboard, you will find a safety box, minibar and far left will be coffee and tea, water boiler and red wine.
The only thing that is included in your room price is teas and coffees.

Exactly at the bottom of the mini fridge, you will find extra pillows, towels, duvet and toiletries.

The room is perfect for two and a small child. There is nothing luxury in the room we are staying in. But we need only a place to sleep. If you are looking for a luxury, you may want to look into their other room. For us, this is great. It is fresh, clean, well planned furniture for easy access.

For the room category, Small, we actually did not expect there will be extra pillows and on top of that, the pillows are very comfortable.
We have separate duvets and the mattress too is very comfortable.
The sofa next to the bed can be pull out to make an extra bed.

The shower and toilet separated by a fold-able door/wall. Overall, everything is clean and easy to reach (being a 5 feet 2 isn't easy sometimes).

I appreaciate the detail they gave on the vanity mirror. It make it easy to put on my make up. The spacious sink is a rare for a budget room even for an expensive hotel.

Breakfast

If you need to have early breakfast, you can visit their Konferenscafeet Expressfrukost right above the reception floor.
Here you will get a simple but filling breakfast. It started at 0430-0700 everyday.

If you prefer to have a private breakfast, all you have to do is place the order and hang the card right outside your door before 0100.
Room service breakfast is very limited. I strongly recommend you to have your breakfast at their breakfast restaurant. Plenty of choices!

When you enter the breakfast restaurant, you will be great by the staff on duty.

The first breakfast buffet is for lactose intolerance, and gluten free products.

After the lactose free and gluten free products area, there are plenty more spread across the room.
We love the ambient in the restaurant. Its very relaxing and very spacious.

 Milk and fruits compote.
Choices of yogurt and dried fruits for your muesli or cereals.

 Few selections of fresh fruits.

Mix your own muesli.
If muesli is not your choice, there are plenty of cereals to choose from.
Toast bread sections.
Far end, there are plenty of buds and pastries to choose.

A very Swedish thing. Pickled herring and liver-paste.

Breakfasts are serve everyday.
Monday - Friday 0630-1000
Saturday - Sunday 0700-1100
