We missed it last year, but this year we made it! Finally we went to Sakura Festival in Copenhagen. The view was amazing! People was amazing, ambience was WOW!
Judge yourself! i mean, look at how fluffy these trees are!
Established in
February, 2008 by The
Committee of the Copenhagen Sakura Festival with the help of the Japanese Embassy in Denmark, the Municipality of
Copenhagen and other Japan-related cultural and private organizations.
Began from the noble deed by Mr. Seiichi Takaki (Honorary Consul of Denmark) donation of 200 cherry
blossom (Sakura) trees. These trees were planted in
Langelinie Park hence where Copenhagen Sakura Festival is now located.
To get to Langelinie Park, the nearest train station is
Østerport station. It is also a walking distance from Copenhagen Central. I'd suggest you to walk here instead of taking public transport. You will pass by many amazing places, buildings along the way.

The entrance fee is free. You are allowed to bring your own food and drink since the festival has a picnic theme. When we were there, we seen alot of visitors brought their picnic table to place their food and drinks. But ofcourse, be respectful if you do bring your picnic table. Don't occupied the entire place with your gears.
Don't worry if you didn't bring own food, there are quite few of food stalls (Japanese foods) to choose from. But, the queue are very long. We were lucky when we bought our food, visitors were still entertained watching drum ceremony.

First show for 2018 Copenhagen Sakura Festival |
You don't have to withdraw cash to buy food and anything here, They accept card payment both debit and credit. We happened to withdraw some cash with us because we thought they don't accept card payment during this festival. We were wrong obviously.

This was taken after the drum show. These are not the only place you can buy food, there are few other stalls around the venue.
|
We spend few hours here before we walked to Copenhagen Central by foot. We stopped at many places for pictures ( i will upload in my next post ).
