Summary
As much as
I want to like and for the product to work, unfortunately it didn’t happen. Despite
the excellent ingredients and a bonus of not containing alcohol, this however,
did not make my skin feel and look good and delivers none of what it promises.
For many,
this does works amazingly well. So, for me to not recommend this to you is
unfair. It might work well for you. 30ml for less than 7 euro, it is worth to
try.
Overall rating 1/5 because great ingredients.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Sodium Hyaluronate, Pentylene
Glycol, Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Ahnfeltia
Concinna Extract, Glycerin, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citric Acid,
Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol,
1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol.
This is one of The Ordinary most rave
about in social medias. Many beauty enthusiasts claimed it has given such a
different to their skin and without a tiny bit of cons. Winter is too harsh for
my skin. My skin gets dry and patchy.
I
have tried other product from the same line, The Buffet, and I do honestly love
it. I still include it in my daily skincare regime. So, given the good
experience with The Buffet, I decided to explore more with this line. Hence, I
bought this.
Product Claims:
• Alcohol, Oil, Nut, Silicone and cruelty Free.
• A
hydration support with Ultra-Pure, vegan Hyaluronic Acid.
• Its three forms of HA offer multi-depth hydration and visible plumping
without drawing water out of the skin solely to improve temporary surface
hydration.
How to Apply:
- Apply a few drops AM and PM before
cream.
My Review:
|
Doesn't this remind you with a dry glue small kids use for art class? |
|
When my skin less dry, it still get lump and ball up like dead skin. |
Let’s start with the packaging. Like many
serum, this too came in a typical serum jar with a dropper to dispense the
product. The jar has slightly frosty glass but clear enough to see the product
inside. Because of this, I kept mine in my bathroom cabinet to avoid direct
sunlight and stay cool.
The
best way to explain the serum consistency is, it has a clear with slightly
watery gel like consistency. Not too watery that it will drip immediately. Nor
does it is thick like typical gel. It is very easy to spread on the face and
dries fast too.
Fragrance; it is odourless.
Application; have 2 drops on my palm. Pat
and press all over my face. I did the same method with all my serums and First
Treatment Essense.
This
is not my first Hyaluronic Acid (HA). I do love HA. Be it in serum or in sheet
masks. Yes, they are a bit tacky even when it is dry, but HA always hydrates my
skin when I need it too. Honestly, I have been trying to like this serum. But
months has gone by and everytime I put it on, my opinion about it remain the
same. I dislike it. It has never cause breakout. But it does nothing to my
skin. The product remains on top of my skin instead of being absorb into the
skin. If look closely, it makes my skin look like I have dried glue spread on
my skin. It will ball up if I rub my skin. Even a slight rub will cause the
product balled up and if I put on my moisturizer or foundation on, it looks
horrible. It just doesn’t work well in combination with other product. Use on
its own, it somehow instead of making my skin looking well hydrated as what
hyaluronic acid does, this one makes my skin drier than before application.

Cons
|
Price. It is affordable and not making a big hole in
your pocket if it doesn’t work.
|
It is an over rating product. Does nothing to my
skin.
|
Dry fast.
|
Although it is dries quite fast, it left skin
feeling tacky.
|
Have not cause me breakout.
|
Ball up like I have dried glue on my face
|
|
Did not sink/ absorb into the skin. It stays on the
skin instead.
|
|
Did not work/incorporate well with other product if
use at the same time.
|
|
At the end of the day, when I wash my face, it feels
like I’m washing off something slimy from my face.
|
|
Made my skin drier than without it.
|
|
Did not hydrate my skin.
|
|
In my case it was a waste of money (since it does
nothing)
|
Does it plump up my skin like it does to
many?
No. It does nothing like that.
Will I repurchase?
No.
Will I recommend this product?
Personally I don’t. But of course, you can give this a try. Given it gives
excellent result to others.
