Asian inspired Chicken Salad Bowl or what I like to call as Salad Terjun

Asian inspired Chicken Salad Bowl or what I like to call as Salad Terjun A quick understanding with the word “ Terjun ”. It means, Jump in Malay. I like to use it because I don’t have a recipe to follow. I literally use what I have, can find and think I can add-in to make the meal complete. So, it is safe to say, I used Terjun recipe a lot. This particular salad is perfect for when you want to clean off your veges leftover in your fridge. The other night, both me and my husband want to have something easy, quick and simple. First thing came to our head is Burger King or Take Away Kebab Pizza. But, neither of them what we would want to eat. So, I went and look into our fridge. Everything is leftover. My first thought was to make fried rice. But I don’t feel like eating rice. I took out all the leftover and thought of salad with Asian twist. Anyway, what I used in this bowl are: Mix Spring Salads Cherry Tomatoes A handful of Bean Sprouts Paprika Carrot ...

NIOXIN System 6

System Kit 6
by NIOXIN

Before you read further on my Nioxin product review, please take a moment to read on My Scalp Story (Story of my scalp). It will give you a better understanding of my personal research that leads to this review.

It has been 3 months since I gave this part-3 Part System kit 6 a try. Now I think it is time for me to give my fair review. I bought my Nioxin from Lyko. It was suggested by one of the salesgirl. She claimed she have gave it a try and love it.

Promised: Result will show in 4 weeks.

A little introduction of NIOXIN

"NIOXIN is developed specifically for thinning and fine hair. There are 6 System Kits to choose from. Each System Kit is according to your needs and hair condition because Nioxin is an advanced skin care approach for better scalp and hair treatment
NIOXIN has found inspiration in premium skincare to supply advanced care for thinning hair. As an extension of facial skin, the scalp requires the same attention and treatment.
The NIOXIN range of products are designed to strengthen, nourish and repair thinning hair from its foundation.
Because scalp health creates hair health, this provides the perfect foundation for thicker, fuller-looking hair."

Nioxin 3-part System no 6 is designed for medium to coarse hair type. Be it a chemical or not chemically treated hair. This kit developed specially for a progressed thinning hair and it promised to help achieving the noticeably smoother and denser looking hair by removing follicle-clogging sebum, fatty acids and environment residues while restoring the moisture level and at the same time refreshing scalp environment.
Find more and learn more about the technologies that Nioxin using here.

Even though, it is specifically for a progressed thinning hair, there is nothing that mentioning about this product will help to regrow hair.

Together with this, I also bought diaboost after being suggested by the same salesgirl. It was considered as sold the moment I saw niacinamide is one its key ingredients. It is well known in beauty industry that niacinamide benefits both skin and hair. Here, it plays a big role in helping to grow a healthy hair.
So, what I learn about diaboost is that it penetrates the hair and increase the thickness of each existing hair strand, for a fuller looking hair. As Nioxin said “It is as if you have up to 11,000 more hair strands!” (based on the average scalp of 100,000 hairs). At the same time, it is also claimed to make hair more manageable and protecting it against breakage while allowing hair to grow longer.

My personal opinions, review and thought:

System Kit 6

This kit come with 3 products. A shampoo, a conditioner and a scalp treatment.
Both shampoo and conditioner contain 300 ml product. While the scalp treatment contains 100 ml product.

How do i use it?

I wash my hair every other day.
I shampoo twice whenever I wash my hair to make sure my hair well cleanse. Rinse thoroughly each time. After the second wash, i will apply the conditioner from scalp to the end of my hair. My first thought was this will make my scalp extra oily. But i was wrong. It did not leave my hair and scalp oily as i thought even though i let it sit for 3 minutes before i rinse it off.

After shower, I will towel dry my hair for a few minutes. After a few minutes and still damp (not dripping wet), I will apply the scalp treatment all over my scalp.
I did everything as instructed.

Product

Shampoo -  Has a strong peppermint scent. I have no problem with the scent. I quite like it. It is clear in color, good amount of bubble, easy to rinse off but it is very drying. I can feel it even while rinsing it off.

Conditioner - Has a creamy peppermint scent. Thick and creamy white in color. A little goes a long way. Easy to rinse off but not very moisturizing for the hair. I always feels like i need to use second conditioner. But for the sake of worrying this treatment goes wrong, i avoid any other hair product besides what comes with this kit.

(Thought both shampoo and conditioner has peppermint scent to it, it does not gives a cooling effect on the scalp.)

Treatment Spray- Simple and easy to use. It has a very medicinal scent with a hint of freshness. It slightly foamy. After few weeks, i do need to rinse the nozzle because of the product built up (you will see the white powdery substance on it). Do wash your hand after applying this product.

My review:

Month 1

After 3 washes:
A very visible less hairfall.
Itchiness has also gone and so does dandruff and the tiny debrises that look like lice eggs (click here for picture). Those was not the only different. My hair and scalp has also less oily!

Two weeks in, the bumps on my scalp are gone. My scalp has never feels so good in such a long time. There is no need for me to wash my hair everyday anymore! I washed my hair every other day and sometimes, 2 days apart.
The hairfall is still at a minimal amount.

Month 2

Entering the second month. There are some changes in my hair and scalp situation. Although the amount of hairfall is still at minimal, but it is more than the first few weeks.
Itchiness on my scalp started somewhere around the last days of the first month. It wasn't so bad, but it does itch from time to time and on certain areas even after washes.

Two weeks in, I realized I have dandruff falling and flakes at around my front hair line. There was some redness in area where the dandruff/dry scalp occurred. They were very small then the size increases to a thumb size and flakes gets bigger.

Around this time, my hair has also feels so dry.

The problem getting worse everytime I wash my hair. I began to have split ends and dandruff worsen. The sebum bumps were also reappeared.
Hairfalls on the other hand, back to how it was before I began to use this treatment shampoo.

I call it quit after 2.5 month of using this treatment.  Pictures below is how my scalp look like after 2.5 month of usage.

My thought:

I was very sceptical right from the beginning because i have tried many shampoos in the past. They all gave an instant relieve, but the problem came back worsen. Unfortunately, Nioxin has also gave me the same result.

At the same time, you have to understand, just because it did not work for me, it doesn't mean it will also a fail for you.

Result:
It is fail to deliver what it promised to do.
It reduce the amount of hairfall for the first month but then it came back not so long after. My hair did not look thicker, fuller nor smoother. It has also did not provide moisture balance for neither hair nor scalp.

Worth it?
No.

Recommendation?
Entirely up to you. But due to what had happened to me, i don't recommend it.

I bought mine from my trusty hair beauty supplies, Lyko.
